Out of left field- just heard a rumor that Steve Spurrier was either flown to Auburn two weeks ago OR Jacobs flew to see him to discuss HC Job. Apparently Spurrier reached out to him and said he would be interested in the Auburn job for two reasons:
1. He wants to win another national championship and he doesn't think that will happen at South Carolina.
2. He wants to go head to head against Saban as he builds his legacy as one of the greatest coaches and he wants to be the coach to take down Saban a knotch or two.
Spurrier believes neither of those things will happen at SC but he could do it at Auburn.
Very interesting rumor, indeed. Anybody else heard this? It makes perfect sense to me.
