Rumors About Steve Spurrier

Out of left field- just heard a rumor that Steve Spurrier was either flown to Auburn two weeks ago OR Jacobs flew to see him to discuss HC Job. Apparently Spurrier reached out to him and said he would be interested in the Auburn job for two reasons:
1. He wants to win another national championship and he doesn't think that will happen at South Carolina.
2. He wants to go head to head against Saban as he builds his legacy as one of the greatest coaches and he wants to be the coach to take down Saban a knotch or two.
Spurrier believes neither of those things will happen at SC but he could do it at Auburn.
Very interesting rumor, indeed. Anybody else heard this? It makes perfect sense to me.

Haven't heard it and frankly don't believe it but that would be great. We'd just be looking again in 5-10 when he is ready to retire. I'd be fine with that though. He knows how to beat cns. Too good to be true.

There were rumors a couple weeks ago about a big name that couldn't be leaked because itd mess things up.

Funny, as I heard him talking about Clemson on Saturday, all I could think is, how dang fun would it be to have him coaching here. I would absolutely love to hear Spurrier give the business to saban on behalf of AU. It would be some serious fun! "Yeah, that other school gets free suits, poisons trees, and sets toilet paper on fire. Guess we are gonna need some fire proof TP, because they don't beat us too much anymore."

I live in south Carolina and he is pretty much a god there... I think his trying to use auburn for better facilities for USC... There is no way his leaving there!!!! Plus Augusta national!!!

Deja vu all over again! Oh no, Mr. Bill.
Remember the Spurrier rumors, sightings, rogue flights, quotes, even a newspaper clip somewhere had him being our next head football coach, that was 4 years ago. Then we got Chizik from ISU.
