Well done Phillip, well done.
..."I still remember Coach Dye washing dishes at my grandmothers house after he ate pound cake and stuff"
Just picturing Coach Dye doing that, is so hilarious words are inadequate!
Men like this can inspire a group of young men to greatness. I do know one thing for sure, this team of coaches we have, has inspired great hope in me.
I love this guy....Auburn is blessed to have him!!
Ever to Conquer!!
Coach Dye taking the time to help wash dishes is still paying dividends this many years later.
I never knew that Rodney Garner and Charles Barkley are cousins!!!
"If you can't put your faith in an Auburn man, who can you put your faith in?"
War eagle. There is a lot to like about this story. Let's make him want to stay until he's ready to retire.
"So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth."... Rev. 3:16
So glad he is back at home!!
Everybody that coaches knows the Xes and Ohs to a degree that sometimes is hard to distinguish and makes it difficult to replace a coach when the time has come for him to leave a university. But our find a new head coach group scored with a man who had more in him than an offensive scheme that would be hard to defend against. He brought in men like Garner, Craig, we know them, and there is no reason to believe the others will lack what we know is found in Garner and Craig.
It's great to hear these words from Coach Garner. One can tell that it comes from the heart. It starts at the top and trickles down to each and every player. I, like most people that subscribe AuburnUndercover, hang onto every word that is written or said about the new regime and I must say that it makes me so happy and excited about this team that we are putting together. Thanks to the new staff for your tireless hours and making the entire Auburn family proud once again. War Eagle!
Nice read... this staff is top notch
Now, That's what I'm talking about!!!
“they ain't got nothing but people...Alabama mystique...Georgia mystique...they’ve done it with people. Hell, we’ve got people, too.”Pat Dye
It takes a man of great character (and an AU background doesn't hurt) like Garner to put it so well. I have no doubt in my mind that these young men coming in and some already home on the plains will learn VERY much from this man on and off the field and that is such a strong sign of leadership; not just being a leader on the field, not just being a mentor while you're in a designated place but all day everyday showing what comes with being dedicated and confident in their abilities to show what they have learned themselves while younger and in the same position. THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO AND WDE !
when the going gets weird the weird turn pro
Anticipated excitement! War Eagle! Nice article.

Ausome! I love this! Welcome home coach!!
"It's easy to work for something you believe in, something you love. Even when you are tired, you will go the second mile." That's Auburn. Always was -- always will be. War Eagle!!!
