Auburn hasn't recruited that many prospects from Maryland other than a couple last year and Ben Tate several years ago.

Oh I know. I meant in the CGC era. We've lost several close battles in the Maryland/D.C area in the past two cycles.

It is interesting to me how manyschools are getting recruits to commit this early in the year. Texas AM has 12 and many of them are three stars. Florida is in double digits and Michigan has really amped up. It is clear that everyone understands the importance of recruiting in winning. It will be interesting to see how many stick.

After the '08 class and Yeldon switching to gears, i don't get too invested in recruiting anymore.
Recruiting was FUN with the 2010 and 2011 classes. Our coaches did a wonderful job. I just hope they get a solid class with Alabama and Georgia guys, then use the out of state guys as a bonus.
Plus, our coaches are slow with the commits. I don't know the strategy, but it is like starting at the back of the pack and hoping to take the lead by the 600th meter. We can't be Secretariat every year I suppose...

I think the main reason we have only 2 commits and the recruiting process goes slow is that auburn doesn't recruit but nothing but the best in the NATION and we all know that the best recruits in the nation jus simply don't commit early other than a few here and there , also I don't see what the big deal is bout focusing on in state guys, if there not the best we can get then why focus on them
