Reuben Foster

  • Reuben Foster played just over a half tonight, as AHS clobbered the Lanier Poets. In the first 7 minutes, he had a sack, a couple other TFL, and was all over the field. He also made a sterling play on a kick-off where he beat everyone down the field and made the tackle. He's clearly a dominant physical presence and seems to be a good team guy who constantly congratulates and encourages his teammates. I'm glad he wants to play football for Auburn. Having said that, my concerns about his lack of conditioning I expressed three weeks ago are still there. He took himself out of the game half-way through the first quarter and was gassed...first quarter. He had a nice touchdown run in the second quarter as well. He has wonderful physical gifts, but I don't see him as "can't miss" like Takeo Spikes or Karlos Dansby. And the proposition that there are only 6 football players in these United States better than him is comedically absurd. At any rate, I enjoyed watching him. Also, I think Rashan Evans will absolutely be a great college player in two years.

  • When the guy needs to turn it on he will... Look at who they've been playing dude. No need for him to be in there with risk to get hurt when they are playing jv ass teams.

If lack of conditioning is his only problem I am jumping for joy. Conditioning on the college level will be an easy fix in my opinion.

Have you seen him fly all over the field he covers sideline to sideline. He is on all defensive plays, a couple of offensive playes and special teams. I think the best would be gassed. WDE

there was this guy that played at AU that used to take himself out of the game when he got gassed too...Think his name was Vincent Jackson or something like that??

the id plays both ways and is all over the field and you want to critiqe his stamina???? Come on man. get a grip. they were beating the crap out of Lanier when they got off the bus.

He will be just fine. You just wait and see.

You are biased. Have you watched the other 6 players in person? Do you know if his shoulder that popped out 6 times last year and hurts every time he uses it needs a rest? So a guy that beats everyone down the field on kickoff is unconditioned? And plays both ways? What's scary is he makes more plays than any other defensive player in the country at the current conditioning level - IF he's in such bad shape then there aren't 6 other better players in the country.
