After watching A&M beat Bama, I think it's clear that Saban was telling the truth earlier when he talked about how the spread was so tough to defend and gives the offense a huge advantage. In addition to 2010, we just about beat Saban's only undefeated team ever in 2009 with our spread. Chizik shouldn't have meddled with Malzahn. If he hadn't, Gus would still be at Auburn and I bet Chizik would have won enough this year to return for year five.
Some say Chiz didn't get the credit he wanted while Gus was here. Seems like he wanted to get rid of CGM so people would quit talking about him. I guess he succeeded, now they are talking about Chiz alright, well firing Chiz.
...because of Chizik's ignorance in the ability to coach at this level continues to show. And his arrogance led him to believe he could make people forget Malzahn and prove it was his brilliance that got us the NC.
