The media is just falling into another of this guy's publicity stunts. To hock his snake oil around the nation, he attempts to attach himself and his products to athletes from championship teams. I can't tell you how many "shocking" revelations he has dropped on Birmingham radio, before they finally caught on and quit allowing him to be on the air. He has a distinct pattern, he finds an unsuspecting media member, demonstrates the affects of his super stickers by pulling on someone's arm with and without the voodoo decal, and then defends the claim by saying, "Well, the players from --TEAM X-- came to me, looking to get an edge. They went --Win/Loss Record X-- and, with the patches, won the championship." Then he pays some, just-out-of-college athlete, looking for some dough, for a 30 second spot to legitimize his claims.
He did it the first time with the 2008 UA team to jump on their 2007-2008 turnaround. He did it with our 2010 Championship Auburn Tigers, and now he's doing it to squirm his way into one of the largest media days in all of sportsdom. The only difference here, I think, is that the reporter knew that SWATS also sold the antler spray, knew it was on the banned substance list, and asked if Ray bought some along with the athletic dunce labels. Ross, never wanting to miss an angle, says "It was prescribed," a statement that sounds juicy, but doesn't really say that was what Ray bought or used, clearing him of false claims. The reporter jumped on the story, and now we have a media frenzy, just what that jerk in Fultondale wanted.
