Buried deep in an article on the recent NFL draft is an interesting segment about Bryce Brown and 5* recruits over the past 4 years. Navigate 60% down the page to the "Philadelphia" section.

"Alabama fans love Alabama football, Auburn fans love Auburn" -- Patrick Fain Dye

If anything that article proves that the recruiting networks ARE accurate. Roughly HALF of the 5 stars are eventually drafted? That is pretty remarkable to be honest, when you consider the total number of recruits in their database. Each year there are probably over a thousand kids that get assigned ratings and then God knows how many that are just in the database with "NR", but they are able to narrow down to 30 or so guys each year they think are elite and half of them do turn out to be elite. That's a good %.
Five stars that go to Alabama are not anymore likely to be drafted than 5*players who go elsewhere. Saban's allure to the five/four star is all $moke and lie$ IMO. He gets way to much credit for the kids who succeed and very little blame for the kids who fail. I hope the AU/UATea head to head battles for 4/5 star athletes is won by telling the truth to these kids. And that is you make it on your skills and your willingness to workhard. Even that does not mean you will make it to the NFL.
Ive never seen a star rating for heart. God blesses everyone ib some way. Those that excel have heart to go with talent. Cant measure will to win with a stop watch or a scale......
