I just have a VERY difficult time believing that a team, any team at any level, fights and bleeds all year long to reach the ultimate goal and then just packs it in out of protest over how much playing time a back-up QB gets (BEFORE the starter gives any indication of struggling). Also, if this was the case, I don't see Bobby Hebert not calling out Miles on it... and then stayed on it. And why would Miles punish Lee and the rest of the team AND basically throw the BSC title (To Satan of all people!!)? To prove a point? Nahhh... No way... I think this is all BS dreamed up as an excuse why LSU sucked so badly in the game.

I think the story has been debunked as far as one debunk something like this. All the players and coaches listed have denied it taking place.

I think it was just done to have an excuse other than - "We got our tails handed to us."
