Auburn looked over his transcript this weekend and wouldn't have taken him if they didn't think he could qualify. Auburn basically dropped Taj Williams and James Hearns because of their grades.

There's no guarantees with grades. Prospects have to finish high school and may have extra work to do in the summer to get qualified. Just about every signee is a risk of some sort.

So that is why A&M has so many guys committed...half have grade issues

I believe aTm has so many commitments due to small class last year and thus some of their recruits may have been early enrolees and count back. S.E.C. Has a rule now against "over signing" so possible grades issues wouldn't be why they have so many (to the best of my knowledge)

irregardless of grade issues they are still limited to 25 per class. The rule is not "25 enrollees in fall" its "25 signed letter of intents". It would be stupid to accept a letter of intent from a player who won't qualify in the fall. For A&M to sign more than 25 than they have guys who are early enrollees and they have space from last signing class to count back. They are not signing extras because they think some won't qualify.
