I don't know how to set up a poll here but I have a question. If UAT or some bama group offered to make a monetary gift to Auburn to cover the cost of restoring the soil and planting new trees at Toomers, would you accept the gift or decline? Plese try to answer with a yes or no.
I wouldn't, but mostly because it sets a bad precedent. Universities shouldn't start paying for the acts of a single crazed fan. Although it would be a nice gesture, I'm sure it isn't practical. What if some stupid Auburn fan goes and pours concrete on the bricks (with names) up there at Denny Chimes? Do we then expect Auburn to pay for that? And where does it stop? Do we replace the grass that someone planted the seeds on? It just seems like a bad precedent to set.

Considering that this is indeed happening with Tide for Toomer's, I'd say yes. It's a classy gesture that they didn't have to perform. I appreciate it.
Oh no he didn't
I agree with Jadennis......It really does set up a potentially bad precedent. If that starts happening, you will have people that don't even represent a school or are even fans of a school, doing stuff so that someone else has to pay for it.
One retard, as painful as it is to say, does not represent the whole bunch. You can't throw a standard mold over everyone.
I think that Alabama making a donation to a charitable group on Auburn's behalf wouldn't be over the line however. That would be something friendly, one time, and has no monetary benefit for Auburn.
The other option is as PM mentioned, which would getting old players together. I think that would not only be neat to see who they pulled together, I think it would be very popular by both sides. Like PM said, "when football players talk in this state, people listen." I don't think anyone wants the rivalry to stop but if it keeps down this path, it may have to.
yes, donate if you would like
no, donate proceeds to anger management foundation. that would correct acceptance and messaging.
Yes, I would like to see how much money they can raise. Last I heard they had raised 22,000 and that wouldn't cover 1/100th of the total cost.
I vote yes but donate the funds to charity.
I am appreciative of the Tide for Toomers group but their attempt at good will is more than offset by sites like http://www.facebook.com/pages/Free-Harvey-AL-Updyke/189010934466843 and http://www.zazzle.com/free_harvey_updyke_tshirt-235358508343555432 which show how much class bammers really have.
Yes!!! This has to tone down!!
