What do you all think of this. And to PM, BM please understand this is just a question. No offense is meant.
With the recent events happening in New Jersey with the Jets Tebow and Rex Ryan. It has become a very large course of contention that I have with reporters not reporting the news , but making the news. There are articles written, interviews made with reporters reporting what "sources" tell them. They don't get it right more than 30%. Of the time. So there lies my question.
Reporters are hired and brought on and are expected to bring their sources and connections with them to enhance their value. So can the reporters be held to the same level that they are holding the coaches they cover too? Can they heave their names trashed and stepped on like garbage? If their articles are put up and they are untrue or they are written in ink. They should have a score kept like they do on coaches bad decisions or bad calls. Reporters that get on tv and spew their crap have a score kept as well. They are the root of it in my mind. They areal arrogantly wrong and never once get held to the fire when they are wrong as heck. And once they accumulate so many points they treated like the coaches they cover.
I know this sounds crazy. But I am so freaking tired of not seeing the sports news reported but seeing sports opinion reported on. They fill up hours of tv with complete nonsense and rarely get facts correct. Think back to baseball on the radio. If a guy got his stats jacked up he would be canned. Now we get either well spoken ex athletes or some guy that never played and really doesn't understand the game.
This thread is to bring back some sort of sanity to what news goes on. If a guy has to call his boss to tell him that some jerk that wrote a story about him with info from some source was wrong or was never said is just ridiculous. Ether write or speak the truth ( which AUC does) or don't write or speak. People don't want sensationalism of some slick back haired jerk hole, they want the news.
Thanks Off my soap box!
