The Bodda Getta

In all honesty, why are so many people here upset/concerned about someone disagreeing with you and clicking a down arrow on a sports website. It seems like a lot of people perseverate over some arbitrary symbol by their name as if it will some how truly affect him or her. Is there something I am missing with the star system? I think a lot of time and thought is wasted on arguing about up/down votes and not the actual topic or opinion that was posted. I think the board as a whole would be better off if some people would relax their concern about a random internet rating and put more focus on presenting valid and relevant topics/opinions.
