Beasley did a 9.7. That was 100 yards which was the race at that time in American track and field. America went metric later on. Terry Beasley was a first round draft pick and was having a good career until injuries ended it. I still say that, other than Bo, he was the best football player I've seen at Auburn. Are players faster today? I would not attempt to deny that. Beasley was very fast among the people of his generation. If he were born in this era he would probably be faster gran he was then.
"I've seen some coaches lose with good players. I haven't seen anybody win without them." Rhett Lashlee
What some may not remember is that Alvin Bressler was also a sprinter on Auburn's track teams. How fast was Alvin? He was every bit as fast as Terry. I remember it being reported in the papers that one of them was faster out of the blocks while the other one might have been a tiny bit faster over the course of 100 yards. They could both fly. Alvin was an outstanding receiver but he was not in the same class as Terry.

I was in high school/middle school during the Sullivan to Beasley years.
I remember my father saying about #88 " He has 4.3 speed with his uniform on!"
