First of all thanks to PM RS and Barner for all the great content you guys have provided so far. I came over here mostly because I have always appreciated BM's recruiting reports ( who doesn't love tasty nuggets?). But then I started to really appreciate PM's professional approach to reporting based on facts, not speculation. Ronnie adds a lot to the site with his background and experience working side by side with some of the biggest names in the coaching world. He can't help it if he is from Dogtown. Honestly, I think he has acquitted himself nicely after such an unfortunate beginning (j/k Ron).
As for the board......how should I begin here? Well..... This board is diverse. It has people from most all walks of life and each viewpoint is unique. Now, that doesnt mean I agree with all of you ( in fact I rarely agree with many of you at all) but that's what makes it so interesting.
I have pissed some of you off and made a few of you laugh( I hope). But the truth is that we are all bound together because of an unhealthy addiction to the greatest football program that this world has ever seen.
I have been accused by some if being a sunshine pumper ( whatever the hell that is) because I don't go negative when discussing players or coaches. If that makes me naive then I suppose I am naive. But I want to let you guys in on some background info that might make you have a better understanding of why I defend our players and coaches. Instead if thinking I am naive maybe I am this way because I have been there ( to some extent) and know what our team goes through on a daily basis to provide entertainment for us. And that's all any of this is to us spectators. Entertainment. Yeah, it can be a source of pride for us to witness success from our team. But what are we really doing on a daily basis to contribute? Most of us are not doing anything to help our team win. So why is it ok to criticize their performance when they do poorly? That's my outlook and the reason I "pump teh sunshines".
So, for post #2001 I want to challenge all of you to think about what you are doing to help this football team that we all love. If your not doing a wole lot maybe you should hold off on the criticism I am not saying we have to all sit around agreeing with each other all the time (that would be pretty boring). I just wish we could consider all the hard work and long hours that are being put into this program before we start throwing rocks at our own house.
Lastly, (and sorry so long) I look forward to all the new members that are swelling our ranks. I hope we continue to grow for two reasons. First, the more people that participate, the more chances I have to say something crappy when I disagree. Second it's a great reward to the staff of AUC for going above and beyond to make this THE place for all things Auburn.
Looking forward to another 2000 posts!
