The Bodda Getta

I didn't realize the reverence with which the people in Enterprise treated their Boll Weevil statue. I went to visit a friend of mine there one time, and of course went to see the statue. They have a big fence of up around it and security cameras (apparently the Weevil has been swiped quite a few times). Anyway, so I am, of course, posing for a picture in from the statue (which is, if I remember correctly, in the middle of a round-about/traffic circle) and this lady is driving, stops in the middle of the road and warns me, very seriously, that I better not be "messin' with our Boll Weevil." I assured her I wasn't and she smiled and drove away. But I could tell that if I'd make a joke about it, she would have been quite upset.
