Petrino is a great coach, no second guess from me. But, unless he hires a great Defensive Coordinator, his tenure at Auburn will be short, just like Chizik. This can not be ignored, Petrino is 2-6 against LSU and Bama. This is why Charlie Strong or Kirby Short would be a much better choice, in my opinion. Defense wins championship, offense sells tickets.

You're using Petrino's record against Bama and LSU as your argument there, and then countered with two guys that have never played Saban or Miles....Makes sense.
Everyone keeps trying to use the "record against Saban" argument which makes zero sense. No one has beaten Saban. Chizik is Oh-fer against all of our rivals outside of 2010....Says a lot. Now that point is moot now that everyone wants Chizik out, but preseason before he drove our team straight into the La Brea Tar Pits, people were making excuses left and right about Chizik not having success against them......but now that it's convenient for people's argument against Petrino, it's ok.......
Look, you can make the morality argument against Petrino all day and it will certainly be warranted, but people trying to say he's not a good coach are way off base and ignorant. The guy has proven he can coach and that's not even a question. He won an Orange Bowl at UL for crying out loud.
