  • The news of Fisher staying after so many thought he was the guy combined with many big names making it known they are staying where they are ... makes this feel an awful lot like 2008. Just curious - are you feeling a change in the air? Are you a little more concerned then previously. With Petrino not getting a call yet and this thing supposedly ending up on Wednesday it just has a Malzhan feel to it. And that might not be a bad thing.

    Just wondering if your perception has changed over the last 24 hours.

    The only perception that has changed is that I thought Jimbo would take the job if he was offered. I don't know how it came down, whether he was offered or not. My only concern is that we get it first when they make a decision. I think Gus is certainly a possibility, but just as certainly not the only one. Personally, my belief if that, if it's Gus, he'll be the coach for a long time, but you never know for sure with anybody. Where will it end up? Right now, it's all guesswork.

    The OP summed up my feelings of despair. I had high hopes going in and all of our top targets(my top one's anyway) have all fallen off on way down the lists. This feels like 2008 all over again maybe worse. Do you feel like Malzahn will take it if offered and is Morris really a candidate? He floors me more than anything. I may jump into a well if he hire someone like that after what we endures the last 2 years. Thanks!

    We (I) have been hoping for the shiny, big gift for Christmas. The one that everyone else wished they had. My hope now is that instead of the shiny gift, we get the more practical gift that will end up doing a better job for us, and last longer too. Not as flashy, and in the short term not as many people will be envious, but down the road will wish it was theirs.

    Rumors are out there that Jimbo was told this would be a bad time to move his son. I thought it wouldn't be an issue, but a few people told me different. It happens every time jobs come open, guys get their names floated around hoping to get a pay raise. There's even more confusion at Arkansas and UT. Arkansas says they're down to Art Briles and UT, if they whiff on Strong are looking at Gundy and Fedora.
