I downvoted you because no matter how bad/mean/jerkoff someone is, I'd never wish something like that on someone. He could have died. I'm not a fan of Petrino but you should never wish something like that on someone or be glad it happened.
I'm 52 and Evel Knievel was my hero in the early seventies. I lived in the country and my mother bought me a new 1972 Yamaha 100 Enduro at age 13. I had three boy cousins that lived 10-12 miles from me. We were fascinated watching and keeping up with Evel. We could not wait for the Snake River Canyon jump in 1974.
He told everyone that would listen to "WEAR A HELMET"
In February of '83 I had an accident just a half of mile from my house.
I am able to type this today because I was "Wearing a Helmet".
I was riding a Honda CR 250 Red Frame. It was totaled.
I missed twenty weeks of work. I was still wearing my first Helmet that I got back in 1972. It was the American Flag. I got it back then because of the movie "Easy Rider". I had been riding in the woods with two younger guys. I made sure they got home and their Mother was standing on the porch when I headed back home. The kids wanted me to pop a wheelie. The CR 250 was super light and very powerful back then. I was doing about fifty mph and as I rode by their house on one wheel I waved at them. I had gone about ten white lines when all of a sudden my back tire became my front tire. According to the mother I did two flips, three cartwheels and skidded about thirty feet ON MY HEAD. Totally destroyed my Helmet.
I'm living proof that the law should require wearing a Helmet in every State.
Sorry to been so long winded but if one person reads this and starts wearing a Helmet it will be worth it.
Also because I was in the hospital I missed my only Birmingham Stallions game. It was the one that pitted Herschel Walker against newly signed Joe Cribbs. The next game I was in the wheelchair section in the south End Zone of Legion Field.
Life Partners Forever.
I've been riding since 1972 and at times did not wear a helmet. Today, the only way I ride is with a helmet. I came to do this because a very good friend killed himself riding without a helmet. In Florida there is no law that requires you to but common sense should always take president over requirement. JMHO.
