Congratulations to the search committee and the 247sports team. Fantastic job and a great hire. We are not out of the woods yet, but key decisions will be made soon. I am glad we won't be emulating our western neighbor with their style of play, we will have our own to give them headaches. WDE

I posted some positive comments on this hire earlier on another thread. Another (and this could be HUGH) positive that I just thought of is keeping some of the current assistant coaches. I know a number of AU fans (myself amoung them) want to see the likes of Trooper, Grimes, Luper and Bouleware be part of the next coaching staff. The best bet for that to happen is with Gus! Keep that bus rollin'!!!

To everyone that says Cam was the reason we had all that success on offense. under Gus... Take a look at that loaded offense and no this is not a slap at Cam (loved him from the 1st day we talked in Wal-Mart, to running into him at Regions and told him to get used to being recognized) That offense had 4 senior starters on the line (with plenty of starts between them)
U had a freshman to rush for over 1000 yards. (For those who are critical of Gus for giving Dyer another chance, are you not the same people who said give Bobby Petrino another chance (and he will get another chance, but only in America can you lose a job by your on problems and people want you to get a better one. Not the cheating but the cover-up is what cost him).
U had OMAC rush for over 800 yards.
WR Darvin Adams followed up a great soph. campaign with a solid junior effort.
WR Terrell Zachary was a solid big play receiver ask Bama as a senior.
WR Emory Blake showed as a sophmore he could be a major player as a WR.
TE Lutzie was a forgotten man till the redzone.
And then you add Cam another 1000 yard rusher and prolific passer (best single season I ever saw, and I witnessed the I-Backs of Nebreska, the tailbacks of USCs, the Auburn backs of the 70-00s (Cribbs, Andrews, Brooks, Little Train, BO. Fullwood, Rudy, Brown, Williams and I saw Teabow)
Gus offense has always been successful and when right expect 2-1000 yard rushers, 2-1000 yard recievers and a 3,000 yard passer.

Now lets build a small,fast defense to match the offense, (that style defense has been successful for Auburn in the past)
