I like our chances with Gus. He is a genius and we are fortunate to land him. General Petraeus Jr. has way too much personal bagggage and questions about his morality.

Auburn's search that began nine days ago finally concluded Tuesday afternoon when the committee of athletics director Jay Jacobs, Heisman Trophy winners Pat Sullivan and Bo Jackson and highly successful businessman and former Auburn player Mac Crawford voted unanimously for---> "Smart." <---

Coach Malzahn is a great person and a great coach in my opinion. It will definitely be entertaining football to watch. When he starts winning these people will be back. Many folks wanted Petrino but his forte is the same as Malzahn in being a great offensive mind and play caller. I think he can right the ship and AU can get back quicker than people think if this recruiting class is salvaged and a dynamic defensive coordinator is hired.

I'm just wondering if we offered Kirby Smart, he accepted (where there is smoke there is fire)
and then he backed out. A lot of Bammers had Kirby going to Auburn this morning.
Just wondering.

I'm excited, great hire. Maybe not everyone's first choice, some were unrealistic in my opinion. I believe Gus's offense without the handcuffs on, will be top notch very soon. And let's face it, our defense has stunk throughout Chizik's tenure regardless of style of offense.....or lack thereof, while the only constant has been Chizik.....poor Ted Roof, we thought he was the problem.

I am going to throw up. Petrino was the only coach available who could take us to the top. Cancel my subscription - I will not be going to see Kentucky style football or JJ and Dye completely destroy everything AU fans held sacred.

I'll get on board and support Gus but for today I am embarrassed of my small thinking university and its inability to have a professional AD who can run a professional search and operation. Whoopee. Underwhelmed.
