#PMARSHONAU: Ramblin' around ...

  • What is so disheartening about all this is I know how great Auburn could be with intelligent and talented leadership. Instead we have what we have and are in the midst of possibly the worst athletic year in SEC history.

I couldn't agree more. The powers that be around Auburn athletics are incredibly weak. There's nothing more frustrating than people in leadership positions that have no ability to lead, but yet think they are and have all the answers. Sadly, this is the state of our athletic department...and it's heartbreaking to see. It's a tarnishing of the collective legacy of Heisman, Donahue, Jordan, Eaves, Dye, Hutsell, Sonny Smith, Mel Rosen, David Marsh, and the rest.

Maybe one day in baseball opposing journalists will write how they have a tough opening schedule because they have to play Auburn. There is no way we will take one game against Vanderbilt. We should take at least one from LSU putting our record at 1-5.

If we don't get swept by Vandy and LSU to start the season, then we will be 'in good shape". Sadly, that's how we look at our sports these days at Auburn. We go in believing we will likely get dominated, and if we don't, we've made progress.

Again, you are completely misrepresenting what I wrote and what was said to me. If that's what you want to do, have at it, but no one said to me that other sports don't matter.
