Old Newby's post is very informative. Appears as though a miscarriage of justice was handed out in 1957. Don't know all the details then nor in 1992 when AU got ninto trouble for providing food and expensives for a player and his family.
I have often wondered if there was a actual need for the "over zealous" NCAA as it is now. Isn't it feasible for the large BCS colleges to form their own "national collegiate athletic association" and adopt realistic policies regarding athletes.
