The situation was handled in the best manner possible. Coach Malzahn once again shows how he conducts himself under pressure. Sorry to lose Coach B, but I don't think that we miss a beat in the recruiting process. WDE!

Phillip agrees about our RB coach being an upgrade and that is damn well enough for me. I just hope S/T doesn't suffer. Boulware was a great coach, let us hope Fountain continues and can coach TEs.

So who is going to replace Fountain? I'm also skeptical with Fountain. He'll have to prove himself on the field but I'll be the first one ready to admit I'm wrong.

I'm with you. Don't see Fountain helping our players develop to the next level. Very disappointing...We actually have some Special Teams talent that could be drafted...Let's hope so and I doubt it will have anything to do with what Fountain contributes.

Players don't get drafted based on special teams unless it is possibly as a kick returner. Also, I liked Jay Boulware, but I'm not sure Auburn's special teams were as dominating as some on here seem to believe. Do you really believe Gus Malzahn doesn't understand the the importance of special teams? Do you really think he just decided to do the easy thing, to hell with his own job security? Really? Again, the day Malzahn took this job he planned to hire Fountain as the TE/ST coach. Bisaccia changed that, but he's gone.

I do too and I don't think it will have much of an affect on the decisions of our current RB targets since Horton's reputation for putting RBs in the NFL is already a known factor. I thought at the time that it put us at a little disadvantage that RB was mostly known as a ST coach and not as a RB coach. Good luck to RB but as I said in another thread, timing is everything and Lady Fate seems to be on our side this year. If I'm a RB recruit and I see a coach that has put multiple RBs in the NFL, choosing AU is a no brainer
