#PMARSHONAU: Hope remains for Auburn hoops

  • Thanks Phillip,

"Saturday night's outcome was a step back and a major disappointment for everyone involved, but the rebuilding job will go on. Barbee is committed to it and the Auburn administration is committed to him."

I'm confident we will see more results of the committment.

  • Auburn steps up at home next sat and wins against good team, I think we take bammer at home. That will suffice along with what u mentioned. Unlike the football team this team and the freshman are improving, look for an upset or two

I hope so. The next 3 games are huge for this team. Win 2 out of 3 and I may change my tune on some of the remaining games. Win 3 out of 3 and I will be excited again. I worry if they lose all 3, the wheels may come off. I don't see a mentally tough team yet. Beating the bammers at home would be great, but Releford and Lacy are good. All I'm really saying is finishing .500 in league would be quite the accomplishment for this team from where they are now. Is it disappointing to say that in Barbee's 3rd year? Yeah. Barbee needs to land a couple of big time studs to turn the corner. He has improved recruiting from the Lebo years. But he has recruited well enough to build a foundation. Without landing a couple of game changers to go along with it, you are looking at being a perennial bottom half of the SEC type team. Those type teams are not tournament teams.

On the court, it was a bad night for Auburn basketball, but the rebuilding process goes on for head coach Tony Barbee.

A great article. AU was a little too hyped last night and it affected 3 point shooting and taking too many chances early in the game. Kentucky's blue chips took over when AU struggled shooting. Improvement is obvious this year. Playing above .500 in the SEC looks possible this year and there is still a lot of season left to improve!
