Let's be honest, the last time the SEC was truly "down", was in 2004. That year the SECW only fielded 2 teams with winning records (Us and LSU). I think we only faced 3 teams with winning records. UT, UGA, and LSU.

All I can say is wow. I do not think the SEC is as strong as usual. When AU, UT and Arkansas are as bad as this year it weakens the league. Six teams were very good, though LSU took a step back. Vandy did not beat a team with a winning record. Neither did MSU. Nobody else had a winning record. My opinion. Why that is offensive to some I have no clue

Does 6 teams in the top 10 not make a very strong conference? Can any other conference say that, ever?

Agree, Phillip. The old days were more fun at bowl time, mainly because Auburn was usually playing in one. This year has been like attending a funeral when you didn't know the guy who died. One thing that I do like, though, is that except for the weekend and holiday games, several are played at night so working people can watch them. The only thing I would change is to avoid two good games being played in the same time slot. Spreading the games out does prevent some of that.

Great funeral line. Exactly. And nowadays we'd have the dvr for those overlapping games.

Don't tell me you are someone who uses bowl match-ups/outcomes as a measure of conference strength! So, if I beat you by 5, and you beat him by 10, does that also mean I'll beat him by 15?

Phillip, I was thinking exactly the same thing today. It was much more fun, when the small bowls led up to the New Year's Day finale. I know we can't have a championship playoff with it like that. However, during the BCS era, we could still have finished it off on New Years Day, with the exception of the championship game. As you said, alas, things change. They surely do.

Look at the Sugar Bowl Crowd. AWFUL! UF sold 7K of 17K allotted. They are #3 in the country and and all this BCS bullchit could mustard up was a game with UL. I can't believe the BCS put NIU in the OB. If I were the Mayors of NO or Miami, I would tell ESPN and the BCS to FO or have them pay impact fees for lost tourism. Ridiculus.

I always think the same thing about the tattoos, Phillip! When they hit middle age and find out that gravity is not their friend...well, those tattoos are not going to look quite the same.

#3 Florida is getting clocked by #21 Louisville though not actually over, #8 LSU lost to #13 Clemson, #10 UCSe needed a last play miracle to beat #18 Mich, #7 Georgia did pull away at the end to win by 14 over #16 Nebraska. Looking like 3-3 unless UF pulls a miracle. Definitely not a dominating performance thus far.

Florida didn't want to be there... Keep in mind this same Florida team blew out ACC champ FSU, but took a block punt to beat ULL.
Reminded me a lot of the Utah vs Bama Sugar Bowl.
