While I'll agree with you on the disappointment in losing 5 out if the last 6 for State. I think Mullen has changed the culture in Starkville, while Chiz has done the opposite in Auburn. How many would take an 8-5 season next year, and call it a success?

What culture has he changed? He had one decent year. So did Sly Croom. Next year at Auburn will be the first under a new coach. I don't believe anybody at Auburn, in a coach's fourth year, would call losing five out of their last six games a success. "Honestly, it was a lot more fun in the old days when the biggest bowls were all played on New Year's Day. But, alas, times change."
Phillip, I was thinking exactly the same thing today. It was much more fun, when the small bowls led up to the New Year's Day finale. I know we can't have a championship playoff with it like that. However, during the BCS era, we could still have finished it off on New Years Day, with the exception of the championship game. As you said, alas, things change. They surely do.

No, you need to read what said and not what you apparently want to believe I said. The point is that the SEC isn't very good this year, not that Alabama isn't very good. Facts are facts. At what point in that column did I compare Alabama to Auburn? Alabama's SEC record is 7-1. They beat one team that is ranked to have that record. The SECCG is not part of a team's SEC record. I fully expect Alabama to beat Notre Dame and win the national championship. Read what I write, not what you want to believe I wrote. Your post is offensive.
