Phillip remember your an old elephant at this game. Your hide is thicker than that. This is human nature at work here. People are very raw and looking to strike out. You just happen to be HANDY. Keep up the good work and remember, "Elephant Hide".

AUsome!! Looks like a winner to me. A whole new attitude for our Tigers that appears to match the new system that will be installed. Hate it for coach Yox but it is what it is!

I agree Phillip.You continue to call it as YOU see it! You have been around AU football much longer than many of these readers/fans and I appreciate your showing your "humanistic/ empathetic side " in all of this!

As another poster said, Yox had his bite taken away, and we needed someone new and intense to get our teams attention. The same old face that they were taught to lower expectations and fear for would have been more of a burden imo.

Would've be cool to see Bill Kazmaier as strength coach. I remember in college working out with him and hanging out. He was a beast.

For Kevin Yoxall, it was always the players who mattered most.

I don't think this was personal or anything, I just think CGM wanted to start completely fresh in every area.

It's Gus's house now and he can finally control the offensive philosophy that he has written about. This will be the first time he has been able to show the football world what his brand of football is all about. He has to be excited!! So it starts at the beginning and works it's way up.
The guys in the football world know this is how it works. Yox was lucky to have stayed at one program so long. He mentored this guy. Times are a changin' and to move forward we must to. Of course, AU is a family. That hasn't changed. It's about a spirit that is not afraid. Do you think they keep academic folks when they don't have to when the Dean wants to change directions? I worked in a family business but when things starting changing I moved on to another job because I wanted a change too. It's hard but in the long run that's what life is all about!!
Can't wait for the new season!! It's too long away from now!

Although I was trying to inject a bit of levity, not a single soul agreed with my Bill Kazmaier recommendation.:) The guy was truly a monster, although there's no telling how his health is nowadays.
