The problem with the offense in 2011 was the inability to move the chains when we were ahead in the 4th quarter. That was documented and observable long before GCM supposedly asked GGM to slow it down. Going three and out at any pace is a burden on the defense, and the defense was terrible anyway

IF Ellis's defense is less glamourous then last years that's great. Since last year's was the most incompetently coordinated defense I have ever witnessed. Ellis runs multiple front defenses based, now get this, on the actual offence we face. He also adjust those looks based on game situations. I don't know if we have good enough football players to be other than average but I'm sure we will be better then last year. BVG was the biggest disapointment of all the coaches last season. Ellis or Roof would not have set in nickle sets as spread team after spread team gashed us running the ball. We would have gone 46 bear, 4-2 run blitz or hell 6-2 wide gap, something to make them change. Never happened. Got tiried of hearing the real problem was Auburn didn't have players big enough or strong enough to play. Excitment comes with having a chance to win not from the coach telling you your not good enough to play football in his schemes and by god he's not going to change.

Looking forward to spring and new beginnings. After last year I never thought I would be so pumped.

Not really. Before he was told (not asked) to slow it down, Auburn scored 42, 41, 24 points. And it was not "supposedly." After that, they scored more that one offensive touchdown in an SEC game just once.
