...I believe in a sound mind, a sound body, and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities...

That was a big topic last week. As of last Friday, Dameyune had not heard anything more from Auburn and had not contacted Auburn himself. I'd never say never, but I don't expect that to change.

Thanks for the response PM. I was wondering if that might have been the reason why Horton had yet to join the staff as a WR coach, which goes along with what you said about Horton in the article.

His runningback coach carries a big name in the South and was a player on Nebraska NC team. He's also hired some very well respected OL coaches. Not to mention Steele, Smart, and Lance what's his name on defense. In the past he's hired Muschamp, Fisher, and Dooley which all carried some weight around the South.

They were big names AFTER they worked for him, for the most part. Almost all of those names became "big names" after winning under him.

Fisher wasn't a big name when he got to Auburn and he wasn't a big name when he left Auburn. He was after coaching under Saban.

Bottom line, the head coach is the one who makes the big bucks for a reason.

Because the plan is for him to coach running backs, which is what he's coached in addition to special teams for his entire career.

1983 — Defensive Backs and Special Teams, Wayne State

1984-87 — Quarterbacks and Receivers, Wayne State

1988 — Grad Asst., Tight Ends and Wide Receivers, South Carolina

1989-90 — Volunteer Asst., Def. Ends and Spec. Teams, South Carolina

1991 — Volunteer Asst., Tight Ends and Spec. Teams, South Carolina

1992-93 — Running Backs and Special Teams, South Carolina

1994-98 — Running Backs and Special Teams, Clemson

1999 — Running Backs and Special Teams, Mississippi

2000-01 — Asst. Head Coach, Running Backs and Spec. Tms., Mississippi

2002-07 — Special Teams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2008 — Assoc. Head Coach, Spec. Tms and Running Backs, Tampa Bay

2009-10 — Assoc. Head Coach and Spec. Tms., Tampa Bay

2011 — Special Teams, San Diego Chargers

2012 — Asst. Head Coach—Special Teams, San Diego Charger

Thanks -- The history I was given didn't include include the fact that those early USC jobs were GA positions, and it didn't mention running backs at Tampa Bay at all. Sounds like a great hire.

While it is true a lot of these players are spoiled rotten, and think the rules don't apply to them, the money they make is a different issue. They deserve every dime as they have put themselves in a position to make it in the marketplace by being able to do what few can do. The same is true for the CEO of a company. It seems as if some in our society feel the playing field should be "leveled" by interfering with the market place. Their envy has lead them to advocate others being pulled down to their own state of mediocrity, instead of aspiring to raise themselves up.

Some CEOs are worth it, some are not. What some CEOs make
is ridiculous. However, I respect your opinion.
