I personally think the answer is very easy. Force JJ to retire at the end of this academic year. Hire Scott Etheridge because, though he is an AU guy, he does not play favorites. He was the leader in the clubhouse for the AD when JJ was hired. I do KNOW that. But SE was overridden by the Pat Dye people.

SE will clean up the AD and run it like a business, which is exactly what it is. PERIOD. He can and will turn the losing athletic program around. Also, Barbee needs 2 more years under the new AD.

The next step is to get rid of McGlynn, which SE would do. He will clean up the compliance office. He will get rid of Tim Jackson. Se will make the TUF a user-friendly office.

There is more, but I think you get the picture of where the problem is at AU in reference to athletics.

You are stating a lot of things about SE as facts. Do you know him personally and has he discussed his objectives and solutions with you?

Nope. But I know one of the members on the committee that interviewed him when JJ was hired. My friend's choice along with others, was SE. JJ was not a choice by any member. So that tells me al I need to know.

SE will run the AD as a business, with emphasis placed on us (AU fans) and making sure our systems, policies and programs in place are efficient and making the kind of $$ they should. He has the experience and toughness to make AU AD one of the best.

TUF and the tix office sux. SE would fix that.

I appreciate the reply. I am not to fond of another AU insider getting the AD job. But if SE is the guy at least there is some reason for optimism.
