Ever to Conquer!!
All I can say is "Wow". Thanks Mr. Marshall.
My earliest memory of Auburn football literally dates back to Bear's final win over Auburn. I don't know why I can remember that game and none before it, but that game stood out. Anyway, I enjoyed the article, I appreciate the notion of it, and I appreciate what you do as it adds to the overall enjoyment of it all. Thank you for the article.

Love what you had to say Phillip. I am 66 and I have seen a lot also. I graduated the season before Sullivan did his magic because freshmen could not play on the"varsity" Seems like just the other day.
Well said PM! WDE!!!
You grad, bro?
Thanks Phillip! This article brought back so many memories for me. You and I are the same age, I was born in Opelika so I truly was raised on AU sports. I spent many dates at AU football and basketball games growing up and fell in love with Auburn. I thank you for the trip down memory lane. I hope to read many more heart felt, moving and reliable articles from you.... again thank you !
Hey Phillip, I'm your senior by 2 years so can relate. Time plays funny tricks on us as we age. It either speeds up, or slows down, depending. I think what your grandad meant was that we are young in the moment which is where we should strive to be. Old age may always be 10 years in the future, but youthfulness is always 10 years in the past as well.
Amazing story PM.
at 53 it is good to know old age is still 10 years away. Mr. Marshall you do a great job, thank-you!
AMEN BROTHER, 10-8 was special for me.

PM, funny you mention the 1963 Iron bowl. My dad was a member of that team ( bucky Waid). He talked about that game like it was yesterday. He always talked about what lead up to that season, the fact that they basically prepared for the Iron Bowl from Jan. to Aug, he stated that even the tackling dummies were painted crimson. He passed away Dec. 2010, but I' m sure you remember the catch he made to set up the game winning field by Woody Woodall that were the deciding points, and he stated he sacked Namath on 3rd down on their final possession. Granted, I ' ve watched the game film twice, and he did sack Namath twice, the final possession still eludes me ( lol). You know how stories Become over time.I have the converted dvd's from that game, and the 1963 Orange Bowl, and I cherish those more than any possession I have. WDE.
