Our QB situation worries me....

  • If KF goes down, we have a problem, and KF is still learning. A scary situation...

What team isn't in trouble if the starter goes down? Not many.

    KF will be fine.

Yep, if it happens, become bama. Run the ball and play defense. KF will be fine

  • At this point we don't have a legitmate 2nd string QB. CM can't throw it 10 ft

    Skillet

  • not too worried I think if kf goes down, we have such a good running game statistically that we would be fine. We can resort back to the run in down their throats then make easy bubble screens and crossing routes.

NO need to make fun that CM has a hurt shoulder and i am sure he can throw over 10 feet. Way out of line and our players deserve more respect from a message board poster. CM made a commitment to our Auburn Family and we support him in return. CM maybe a emotional kind of guy but I think that speaks volumes to his wanting to win. I will be nice and say you are being a ***

He's not making fun of Clint. It's a fact that his shoulder is not in playing shape and he can't really throw it right now

  • K. Frazier and J. Wallace to me are better players than B. Trotter and C. Moseley that we had last year. So much more talent. We will be just fine. It will take Frazier a few games though to get his groove and feel comfortable. We are all good...

  • not so much worried about KF going down as I am his accuracy. Only time he threw deep last year.... interception. granted I didnt think his first start should have been in Arkansas but still. hearing he over threw two open receivers yesterday...... unsettling to say the least coffee

Well, I can volunteer my services since I have four years of eligibility left. I am sure I can thrown it twice that far, at least a few times, before I need to ice my shoulder.

  • If you can't throw, you can't run in the SEC. When we couldn't throw during Tubb's last year people stacked the line with 9 guys in the box. Result - Auburn 3 Miss State 2.

Not fun. THAT is when you lose to Vandy.

Frazier could go down on the first offensive series. If so, its just a long season. Cam could have gone down in 2010 also. Dat's da politics baby! - Richard Pryor.

KF"s accuracy is a concern to men, but its only because it's still an unknown. I could care less what he did in the 5 some odd passes he trhew last year. I think people are hanging on to those stats way to hard (granted, that is the only evidence we have to go on). But he was asked to throw in HORRIBLE situations, where even Aaron Rodgers would have failed. I will reserve my comments as to KF's consistency once I have seen a sufficient sample of attempts.

I'm sorry, but this is just ignorant. You really think he would have been as highly recruited as he was if he wasn't able to throw a pass accurately? Add to that all of the detailed technique coaching he is getting from Leoffler.

Stop worrying about what Frazier did last year...apples and oranges.

I feel better this year than last year. Frazier and Wallace are not sitting ducks like Trotter and Moseley last year. Also, we have a legit QB coach this year who can teach and has put QBs in the NFL. Gus was an OC and that was it. A schemer not a developer. I'm more concerned offensively about our OL. Got talent but will they learn fast enough?

  • just going off what we're hearing. doesnt sound like he's any better throwing the ball than last year. threads about QB concerns, mine lies within his accuracy. just saying it'd be better to hear he's hitting his receivers than over throwing them. if anybody can fix it, I trust CSL can. reserve the right to not be sold on KF yet. jmho dont taze me broh!

I agree. But would say that KF will be a little better aclimated to getting it done after the hard summer they put themselves through. Missing a couple guys the first time you go LIVE LIVE isnt so much a concern to me. Lots of learning and lots of coaching moments are going on right now. So to take that he missed a couple guys as a real basis for concern is a little premature.

Lets not forget that PM did mention in his scrimage post that he also threw a couple great passes int he scrimage. So as usual there are good with the bad. I am trying to stay ont he Good side and say he is going to do well.

KF was the USA today player of the year for a reason...and it wasnt just his feet that got the award!

  • I was feeling decent about the offensive line untill about 10 days ago. Heard Sullen had trimmed down, figured he would become a leader. Not sure what's really going on there, but when coaches are saying basically, "we will play with who's here" it doesn't sound good. I think the public was thinking Erick Mack was healing both mentally and physically and might be getting back to his form of before the horrific event. And with Slade and Dismukes and alot of Freshmen backups, the lined seemed seasoned with a couple of talented redshirts mixed in. Now, IMO, if the lineup was what played most of the scrimmage, it will be a complete rebuilding year on the line. I know this prob won't be the starting five, but it will prob be fairly close. IF the line does struggle for quite a few games, it will greatly exaggerate the deficiencies of whatever QB plays. I hope CG can work a miracle in 2 weeks. Luckily, Clemsons D-line is not very good from what's going around.

I agree it may be a little too soon to judge KF. I'm just eager for that deep threat! I was so tired of seeing passes to the line of scrimmage at the side line I could have screamed.

  • One thing that will certainly help this year, whoever is under center for us, is that our recievers will be allowed to break off their routes and help if the QB is scrambling. This was NOT ALLOWED under Malzhan. I was shocked to hear this myself from our players, but his system was SO QB based, it was in-flexible for the wide-outs. Assuming KF is going to be scrambling a little bit, at least early on, I would think taking the "chains off" our recivers to come back and help in those situations will be HUGE. It certainly explians why our QB's last year missed "some" of thier throws. BTW, KF throwing high is just footwork, and CSL "Leffy" will fix it. The main issue for KF was mental. I think (don't know but highly suspect) that CGM did the same thing to KF that he did to Kody Burns....sized him up and decided he wasn't "it". It blows me away that CGM recruited KF so hard, then sort of "banished him" and didn't work with him much. Many of the players say that the "dominating" KF they knew from high school was back in the AU spring practice. I think CSL has a diamond, and he's polishing as fast as he can!!! Also , I hear J Wallace is a BEAST, and 2-3 games in can easily be the #2....the players respect him already and he is a leader in the huddle. He is also a bit of a "mirror" to KF, so we would not change the packages around if he comes in the huddle, as we would for CM, due to capabilities. WAR EAGLE!!

  • Skillet, the good news is we are going to be back to "running to set up play action", which goes back to the "Gulf Coast" style of Borges a little bitrockon. We never asked Brandon Cox or Jason Campbell to win a game like we had to with Cam. KF's job will be 3 things....(1) NOT to turn the ball over stupidly, (2) get us out of bad plays and into good ones, and (3) use the play action when it comes open to keep the defense honest. Cox won 40 games doing it, and I am pretty sure KF is more talented than Cox was. I totally understand what you mean here, and yep, if he does go down in the Clemson gamepanic.....JW isn't ready yet and CM won't be 100% (and major adjustments will have to be made for him at QB). However, we could be UGAloco....if their QB goes down? season over......at least we have a beast of a running game to fall back on.
WDE and everyone think good thoughts on the health and growth of KF, and our whole, young, talented team!!!
