I completely agree...

As was mentioned on here earlier - there aren't many name brand coaches out there who don't have very overly inflated egos. If titles didn't matter, why would we have co-coordinators and assistant head coaches?

If the coaches are there for money and winning, they would let you name them "head janitor". But they compete for the spotlight and are striving hard to move up the ladders.

When things are going well and the team is winning - no problem. But when things start going south - things get bad.

I hope Gus knows what he is doing. You never know until you try.

Those titles allow these men to make more money. I don't agree with the "too many chiefs" ideal, cause no matter where they go it is the same situation. They all answer to GM, and alot of these guys have been on the same staff before, and I remember correctly, Garbner recruited Craig(?). The only place that can even be equated it recruiting, and I would love if they were competitive with each other with who could get the best recruits. These guys will work with one another, because they all know how to win, by being great leaders, who help mold biys into men & have them prepared to win every week. They will be fine & the rest of the SEC West better get ready, the sun is shining on the Plains, and we are coming back for our position as #1 in the state, SEC, & Nation.

Exactly. In reality, the staff will be like any other. Rhett Lashlee will be in charge of the offense with obvious involvement from Malzahn. Ellis Johnson will be in charge of the defense. Rich Bissacia will be in charge of special teams. There weren't be any blurring of the lines in those areas.

It shows me that Gus is comfortable with strong coaches coming in and I think he had a plan in place based on his knowledge of the personalities involved and has discussed roles and responsibilities clearly upfront which is a major step in avoiding a problem downstream. Now we'll find out how good of a leader he is and I think he is going to be great.

Recruiting is easy to divide up geographically and by personal relationships and then the coordinator pulls it all together. I think CGM has hit it out of the park. There is nothing to motivate an organization like excellence at every position. It also speaks to what they think of CGM. Money is one thing but joining an organization without feeling 100% positive about success is altogether something else. Enough of my rambling.

My biggest worry? We'll dominate Bama too well too quickly causing a mental health epidemic for the state of Alabama as those living on sand mountain whose sanity is already just barely hanging by a thread will snap under the strain of knowing War Eagle will ring loudly from the plains to the glorious heavens.

I get the feeling you have never been in a boardroom with a group of directors of a major Fortune 500 company (I have). They are all chiefs and even though there will be disagreement decisions get made and results do follow. The Indians are the players. Just saying.
