Offensive Philosophy

  • With Kiehl Frazier being looked at as the possible future of Auburn football (Mosely "in my opinion" is not an SEC QB) and Zeke Peke coming in why dont we just run down every defense we see this year. I believe we have some good talent on the OL why don't we rotate Frazier and Peke with OM, TM and MB in the backfield and just beat the defense down with all five of these guys until they ask for mercy. I mean I am not claiming to be an expert by no means but its time to play SEC football again and I say we take it and just run it up the heart of every team we play next year.

    What do you guys think?

  • Phillip I am by no means implying that we have a team that runs 90% of the time but 60 to 65% is favorable. I don't think we have the quarterbacks to be a passing team right now. We most likely will not have a vertical game next year, not because the receivers are bad but it hasn't been shown that we can throw the ball down field. I don't trust Kiehl Fraziers arm but I do quick slant, screens, curl routes and play action could really help us. Again disclaimer I'm not by any means an expert or they would of hired me by now to be the new OC but with as much running talent as we have, it is very unlikely we will be a vertical team (not saying that you said we would be)

its sad to say but Bama, LSU and Arkansas are not going anywhere for awhile especially not Bama which as an Auburn man is hard to say. They play big they play fast..... what shot do we have? What would be your offensive philosophy coming into next year Phillip?

  • I agree we need to run the football next year. We need to mix it up a little in the passing game to keep the defense honest.

Two problems I see right now is we don't know who our QB is. That will be very key as to what we can do on offense. Next I'm personally not impressed with our OL from this year. Yes we produced a 1,000 yard rusher but I don't think were very physical across the board.

But I do think and hope were better next year. It will be interesting who our starting 5 will be.
