These are very good kettle bells and a 24kg will set you back around 75. Also if you search the web you can usually find 10 percent off coupons. Now on the weight subject it depends on what you are wanting to do with it. I started out lighter because I like high rep workouts with my bell. Also I weigh only 165. But I started with 14 and have since purchased more.

Kettle bells are effective, but being as big as you are, you already have a huge amount of stress on your lower back. I'd be careful with some of the exercises that involve lifting the weight over your head, deadlift-type movements, or squatting-type movements.
