Buddy Garrett, of Limestone County an AU grad and a 5th generation farmer of land originally purchased by his great, great grandfather in the 1820's passed from this life this week at the age of 86. Buddy was one of the first farmers to farm cotton with the no-till method and just this year recorded one of the biggest yields of his storried farming career. Buddy will be missed by his many friends and those at AU with which he worked in purseuing advances in the agricultural sector.
Truely one of the last Southern Gentlemen, Buddy will be missed by all of us who were blessed to know him personally and enjoy his humor and genuine friendship.
WDE, Buddy I wish we were meeting at daybreak in the morning to get a few Mallards. You will indeed be missed my friend.
