OT - Insanity

  • Starting in January I changed my diet paying close attention to my overall nutrition. I am down 30lbs with another 15 or so to go. I am now feeling good enough and I am mentally prepared to begin the process in getting into great physical shape. I ordered insanity over the weekend and should have it in the next few days. Have any of you attempted insanity? Supposedly the hardest workout system on DVD. Any advice and or encouraging success stories? Thanks!

  • Sorry. No experience with insanity. But wanted to wish you luck.

Stick with it, ush yourself butdon't over do it & hurt yourself.

Remember it is a lifelong commitment so once you reach desired goals......balance diet & regular exercise (but vary outine) works best.

    Good luck! War Eagle!

Thank you for the encouragement. I am about to turn 40 so it does have to be a lifestyle and lifetime commitment. It is too hard on my body to continue to yo yo between complete unhealthy lifestyle and equally unhealthy crash diets.

  • My wife and i ordered insanity... i was able to do the first half of it before my knees hurt so bad I couldnt finish.. she did the whole set twice and loved it. It's tough high impact high intensity training. Good luck

  • I am in my second month of Insanity. It absolutly works,I have lost 15 lbs so far and gained a tremendous amount of muscle definition. But AU-Koppie is right, it is rough on the joints, so be prepared to ice down knees and shoulders afterwards.

  • I've gone thru Insanity twice and it really does work. I'm 23 and completed it with my 51 year old dad. I did it more to help him get back in shape and he lost a ton of weight. It you have a history of knee problems, I've heard of people having problems. My dad has had surgery twice on each knee, but never had an issue with his knees hurting from Insanity. So, i guess it's just depends on the person.

If you have the time, I recommend doing it the morning. It really gets your blood flowing and revs you up for the day.

    Good luck!
