I am envious. If there are two places I could choose to live, Auburn and Bowling Green, are my two choices. I am 48 and have never lived there myself but my entire family on my mom's side is there. I spent many summers as a kid there on my grandparent's farm and still often wonder what it would take to get there myself. Unfortunately I can't help you out much on the restaurants or where to live but I will email my cousins and get their input. Good luck with the new job.

I live about 90 minutes north of BG in Louisville. You'll be within driving distance (2hrs) of both Nashville and Louisville. So some nice cities to go see concerts in, sporting events, etc. My coworker's daughter lived there for quite some time and taught at WKU. So at least you can go see some good basketball! And can watch Petrino coach a bit of football.

I'll do some digging around and see if I can find out the more desirable areas to live in for ya.

I've got a buddy of mine who grew up in Louisville (he's even already taught me how to say "Louisville" correct... Like your swallowing it...). I knew about Nashville in my trips up there already. My wife is heartbroken that there isn't a Loft clothing store in BG and she'll have to drive to Nashville to go shopping.

My wife is also looking for a job now at WKU, so I have a feeling we'll be going to several WKU sporting events; never mind I'm working for Russell Athletic/Fruit of the Loom, so I know we'll have plenty of free WKU tickets I'm sure. Funny enough, we were up there for an interview when Petrino was announced as the HC at WKU; and they had the after-party at the Hilton we were staying at. I was worried because my wife is a tiny blonde; but I didn't see any motorcycles outside and I figured we were safe.

I would appreciate it. Looking for a small apartment now, until our house in Auburn sells. So if anyone knows of anyone looking for a 3br/2ba house behind Kroger off Glenn, let me know. Going to have some awesome, major renovations here soon.
