WE COMING . WAR EAGLE !
Great update Ron, thanks!
This is for the Auburn Family and everyone who played here before we did. I love ya'll, War Eagle!' Nosa Equae 10/19/13 Kyle Field Texas A&M
Why not continue with a spread offense. It has served us well, especially last year. If we can get a good OC and even hire a QB coach (lets admit it, would be damn helpful to have a guy dedicated to training our QBs and less time on planning an offensive scheme) would work out better for us. Id love one of the Saints or GB guys buy I trust Chizik will get a good guy. We cant just run into a pro style offense (and lets face it, more teams in NFL are going to spread) from a spread offense.
Some of us need to remember that Gus Malzahn was viewed as a High School coach with some NCAA experience (Arky and Tulsa), but the knock on him from AUBURN's foes was that he could not direct a potent offense in the SEC. Well, we all know how that turned out and he showed the NCAA FBS he had quite a knack for putting up strong numbers with what he had to work. Whether Gene Chizik pulls the trigger on a candidate from Ron's list or someone else of similar experience, we will know that the chosen one possesses the character, philosophy, skills, and creativity to develop a sound, productive offense on the field each week for the AUBURN Tigers.
The anticipation surrounding the OC hire will likely conclude with the same level of excitement and energy that resulted from VanGorder's announcement. Spring practice and the 2012 A-Day game will give us a glimpse of what's to come, but we will have to wait until September to see the real deal. I am one alum who is ready to see how the 2012 team pulls together with the new coaches to have fun in their next run for the SEC crown and the crystal ball five to six weeks later. Let's do it Tigers! War Eagle!
Ron, Ive been told that Pete Carmichael is a target. now that the Saints have lost , what are the chances CGC interviews this guy? Have you heard anything about this guy?

Ron, I've asked AUC contributors several times during the OC search about Philip Montgomery, OC at Baylor, but I got no replies. He was responsible for the development of Robert Griffin III, I believe, and I've heard that his name has been discussed on other AU-related websites. I'm not sure that he has an NFL connection, though. Have you heard anything about him?
