CSL is looking more for pro-style guys but a dual-threat that has a live arm and can throw with touch and make good decisions would certainly be a bonus.

Are we talking about Cam Newton? You cannot really compare anyone to Cam but it sure would be good to get a QB who can pass but also run when needed to get those few extra yards.

I, for one, hope we continue to really scour the countryside for top dual-threat QBs. One can't expect we will ever find another QB with Cam's talents. On the other hand, had CSL been there at the time to develop Cam's QB talents even further, might Cam have been an even more effective QB? We'll never know but the one thing I saw in 2010 when Cam was our QB that is applicable to the future is that if you have a QB who can put additional pressure on a defense with serious running ability as well as great passing ability, your offense will be more productive.

If KF shows the ability to be a great passer this year in addition to his quick feet, he'll be much more productive both running and passing, will gain significantly more rushing yards and we'll score significantly more points.

PS: As Cam and other dual-threat QBs impact the league there will be more and more young qbs willing and desirous of developing as dual threat qbs. Presently, I think most elite hs qbs want to develop, primarily as a "pro style", the thinking being that gives them the best chance to get drafted and play in the nfl.

Why do people say that you can't compare anyone to Cam Newton. You can compare a Ford to a Rolls. OK, it may not compare well in many ways, but it can be done.

I think what most posters mean when they say that is that it's not fair to try to compare any one of these kids to Cam.

It's not fair to expect just anyone to have the talents of a quarterback six five, 250, quick, a rifle arm, and a smile that wins everywhere. Comparisons are made to find values and not differences and not to get preconceived notions. . .
