Committed recruits say all the time that they're planning on visiting other schools but few actually do. The ones that do, and several have visited Auburn in the past couple of years, usually end up signing with the school they originally committed to.
It's difficult for me to understand the negative and "expect the worst" attitude of a portion of Auburn's fan base. Apparently, winning a National Championship and having two back-to-back top five classes is meaningless and Auburn's staff has forgotten how to coach and recruit.
