  • As far as I'm concerned, I think of one thing when I hear about or see PSU. IMNSHO, they should have been given a true death penalty and should have been stricken from the record books dating back to the first cover up. I have no sympathy for the institution and am as sickened by its actions today as the day the news broke.

    What about the student body that covered up nothing? You really want to take one of the best experiences they will have in college away from them? How would you feel if you were a student, that did not play sports, yet enjoyed school events surrounding football and other sports, and the NCAA came in and took that from you? Really? I by NO MEANS condone nor do I even remotely like the events that took place at PSU. However, why are they punishing current/future students that had nothing at all to do with this situation? Also... isn't having to wear the letters of said corrupt institution enough public humility because of people with opinions like yours?

    I understand it's a disgusting, horrific act that took place at PSU, but to punish generations that had absolutely nothing to do with Sandusky is ridiculous. If the engineering department chair had covered up a professor molesting children, should the engineering department receive no more funds? Should it be shut down? I underxstand it's not quite the same, but the people involved should pay the ultimate price, not the institution that had nothing to do with it. That is my opinion.

    Are you referring to a student body that threatened one of the victims about speaking out? There were many more involved in the cover up than those mentioned in the suits. Read a little about it and you may begin to understand my way of thinking.
