It won't fly. The first 5* who is declared ineligible because their HSHC, Ma, Pa, Uncle, Auntie, Bro, Sister, or Homeboy had a hand out for the 5*'s services, then the NCAA will be in some serious crap. Quick Pro Quo is very difficult to prove.
I guess providing a girlfriend a scholarship to influence a football recruit now makes the recruit ineligible too. It isn’t happening.Punish the schools that offer extra benefits and lobby the US Government to make a law that punishes people who solicit a recruits services.
As the rule is written now, we only need a third party to claim he recieved cash from a X booster to influence TJ to come on-line. Oh sorry TJ, you can't play because long lost Uncle Joe took money on your behalf. Dumbest thing I ever heard.

And, they just opened up a can of worms.......because now all any opposing school has to do if they don't like the superstar player for their rival is roll out some "3rd party" who has some sort (any sort) of connection to the student-athlete and have them "claim" that they marketed said student athlete for money. Any rich booster for an opposing school will now be able to approach some low-life cousin or uncle or whomever has a familial connection (or not) to said student-athlete and pay them a large some of money to "come out" during said student-athletes successful season and "blow the lid off" by claiming to have marketed them. Unfreakingbelievable.........
