My middle son accepted to Auburn Ginn Engineering School!

  • He is very pumped! Dad and Mom are also! Living in Destin, FL, did not think I would have any of my three boys follow my footsteps and go to Auburn. My oldest son is going to Florida (hard to go out of state when you live in Florida and get a full scholarship to UF!), but looks like my second son has the War Eagle bug. Been reading the other posts on where to live and all these days - very different than when I went to Auburn and mostly lived off campus - they demolished Magnolia Hall while I was there. If any of you have kids currently at Auburn, appreciate the suggestions on where to live on campus.

Maybe he can get a part time job at my old spot - Momma Goldbergs.

    Thanks!

  • Fantastic! Congratulations to both of you? Campus is a lot different now than in our day. My son is graduating in May, it has gone gone by fast.

Most freshman live in what we used to call the hill dorms, over by the presidents mansion. Those dorms are basically unchanged. There are some men in an honors dorm around Cater Hall area. Like we did, most kids move off campus after Freshman year.

That is awesome. Which engineering route is he going?

I know how you feel. I was living in Georgia and my son followed me to Auburn. The out of state was tough for my wife and I but worth it. My other two graduated from Georgia College in Georgia. Now my grandson is a sophmore and his brother will join him next year as he is also been accepted.

Thanks KevinAU, he is leaning towards Computer Software Engineering or maybe Wireless Engineering, not really sure yet, going to do a visit and learn more about these.

That is a good one. I started out in Software Engineering, found out I wasn't the best at programming and switched to Industrial. The AU Software Engineering program is one of the best though. Good luck to him.
