Thanks for the encouragement guys. I enjoy reading a lot of the stuff. And there is a large segment of people on this board who state criticisms in a way that are not demeaning. I certainly am not opposed to that.
I just get tired of reading a post with some really valid points and then it ends something like this - "and anyone who can't see this is a fool". Or a post that says "if you can't get behind this team and our coach then you are not a true Auburn fan". We all have our different takes on how JJ or CGC should be responding right now. And I am not talking about that. It just jumps to such a far fetched conclusion that it is beyond hyperbole (BTW, is that statement itself hyperbole?)
It is one thing to spout off at the mouth and say something you regret. It's entirely different to type it out, spell check it, and post it for everyone to see. Over and over again. No taking that kind of thing back.

Gonna try to make this short.
I have to admit it is tough reading these message boards lately. From what I hear, this site is tame compared to others. That doesn't make it easier to swallow. Just kind of a downer when you're on here. If I could make a request (not demanding anything, just requesting), could we dial it back just a little? It seems we are taking comments from people, running to the farthest edge we can find from that person's intent, and ridiculing them for what they are saying. And I mean on all fronts. Even people I agree with. I just feel like reasoned, sound arguments are so much more pleasant than hateful rhetoric. Every time I post, I go back and re-read what I have typed and make sure it sounds the way (both in message and in tone) I want it to sound.
When I read PM's article on leadership within the football team, I really didn't hear all of the divisiveness everyone else did. My first thought was 'I am so proud of the way our team it trying to work to salvage this season.' I felt like everyone being interviewed is handling a very tough situation the best way possible.
As far as the Jonna stuff. I think she did a good job of clarifying her original post. It seems to me what she was saying is that Satan can steal our joy in times like this. Not that Satan has infiltrated the team and is making Kiehl hold onto the ball when he should be throwing it away. And as a follower of Christ, I have to admit, in that light, I agree with her. Because of what I said in the first paragraph, I almost punted my membership to AUC this week. It's just too difficult for me to get done what I need to get done on a daily basis and be burdened with reading all of this. And, in my view of the world, that is Satan trying to steal my joy. And I understand that for some of you that seems 'kookie'. Heck, there are times it seems 'kookie' to me. But I think it's true.
Finally, I do think some changes need to be coming soon. I have some ideas on what they are but I won't post them here. I don't believe we should get rid of JJ or CGC. I have met and talked with both men multiple times and I am very impressed with them as men. I believe they are great examples as fathers, husbands, and men in general. Doesn't mean they shouldn't be held accountable as a football coach and an AD. And I don't think they want that either.
Sorry for the length of this. Been thinking a lot lately. And I am still a member. Gonna try to keep pumpin sunshine.
