Talked to Ben Leard before the game. Asked him what he thought of the QB's in practices he watched. He said he thought they were OK, not great. I asked him what the spring game meant, particularly for a quarterback. He laughed and said "Nothing at all." I'm honestly amazed at the hand-wringing over missed passes, etc., in a spring game in which walk-ons were getting snaps, against a defense that knows every play you are running. To say that last Saturday's game showed that Auburn is "in big trouble" at quarterback is simply to say what someone wants to hear. We'll see what happens, but there was no reason for alarm in that game. If one of them had gone 25-30 for 400 yards and five touchdowns, we'd have dozens of posts on here wondering how the defense could be so bad.
Certainly an improvement over last spring.....One observation on Frazier, and my friend sitting next to me agreed, he is very readable on all passes. Never saw him "look off" a receiver and several of his passes could have been intercepted. This habit can be corrected otherwise he may not make the grade! Lot of positives on offense and defense for 2013 WDE!
Another point about A-Day games: The offensive MVP in last year's A-Day game was Kiehl Frazier.
Rewatching A-Day now, and Nick Marshall & Jeremy Johnson can't get here fast enough. JW & KF are starters on no other SEC team, well maybe Ole Miss
KF is still not sure of himself and JW is still having a lot of problems with his mechanics. I really think that the QB job is wide open.
