1994 Florida game.... one of my all-time favorites. Now I have a good PM story about it as well!
Ever to Conquer!!
Shouldn't this be on one of the other boards.
Great article about Phillip, Mike. I enjoyed reading it.

ON TO VICTORY - STRIKE UP THE BAND
You were the only reason I stayed with the site. Every morning at 5 am I would read your column and drink my first cup of coffee. Now that I find out your love of cigar you need to join me at our tail gate this fall at University Station to enjoy a great stick. Nobody is in your league. I will miss you Phillip.

I have always enjoyed Phillip's writing and his stories. My personal connection began as a student working for David Housel and have the great fortune to work with Phillip, Mike and countless others. The Citrus Bowl trip in 1987-88 (AU vs. USC), a very late night at Rosie O'Grady's, and Phillip boldly proclaiming, "You older guys get up here and pay, these students ain't buying no damn beer" will go down as my favorite PM quote.
"A CHAMPION NEVER TAKES SHORTCUTS HE ALWAYS PAYS THE COST TO BE THE BOSS"
Great article Mike. Although I am new to AUC, I have been watching and reading about Auburn sports since the 1980s. I was there at the Florida game in 1994 - one of my favorite football memories. Especially since I married into a Gator family and I get to remind them of that moment and several others since. PM will be missed, but glad to know we still get to hear from him on a regular basis.
A relative told me that PM enjoyed blowing cigar smoke in the face of Paul Finebaum & Cecil Hurt in the press box at Talladega. Know that's classic!!
