Mcelroy predicts Championship.

  • Once again today I was tuned into Sirus radio. They phone interviewed Greg Mceldoodoo, I mean Mcelroy. He said that Oregon would beat Auburn. He detailed how the pace of Oregon would be too much for Auburn. He stated that Auburns #1's were good but there is a huge difference between Auburns #1's and #2's and the pace of Oregons offense would eventually wear the AU defense down. He also commented on the Iron Bowl. He said that they were a Jekyl and Hyde team this year. When they were focused and determined they played like "the Michigan State game, the second half of the Arkansas game, the first half of the Auburn game." "We took our foot off the gas in the second half of the Auburn game and obviously that did not work out so well. You also have to realize that Auburn was able to play two additional defensive linemen in the second half and they really made a difference. You could really see their intensity pick up when those two fresh guys come into the game."

I was screaming at the radio - "you mean our #2's on the defensive line, JERK! "

  • "We took our foot off the gas in the second half of the Auburn game . . ." Remember folks, we did not beat Alabama, they gave us the ballgame. Guess they'll be saying the same thing about Oregon after we beat them. War Eagle! It's our time now bammers. It's not about you any more.

  • what's funny is if you asked Greg if alabama could be Oregon, what would he say? What the AU game a fluke? We are the only team that went into their house and beat them. We beat the ref's, the holding, the fans, the hype, but we can't beat the mighty Oregon? Hunh, it just doesn't make sense.

Will they score? yes. Will they score several TD's? yes. Will they be able to stop our O, no. Will they be able to dominate our D? no. 45 - 31.

  • You have to forgive Ginger. His memories of the Iron Bowl are a little fuzzy.

  • Doesn't bother me if he thinks Oregon will win. I remember some Auburn players tweeting about how they couldn't root for Alabama vs MSU so I guess its a two way street.

I got tickled when the hosts asked "Ginger" where he thinks he will end up after the NFL draft. He stammered a little and said that he would not speculate because he has heard that he could finish "anywhere" "It's really all over the place, so I plan to just sit back and enjoy the process." I was thinking, way to doge that one doodoo, that is a great way to say 'I plan to enter as a free agent'

Does not effect me one way or the other. I simply thought it funny that his main reason for Oregon winning included a HUGE disparity between our #1's and #2's and then cited our two #2 defensive linemen as major reasons for their loss in the IB.

  • Guess they took "their foot off the gas" at SC and LSU as well. Well, darn and aw shucks!

Yeah, he must have gone to the REC and pumped with the party line stance on why they lost.

  • Actually, if you really think about it, the only reason they had as many points as they did was that the refs gave them two touchdowns by extending drives on two totally bogus penalties against us. They also stopped a potential scoring drive for us by not reviewing a catch by Darvin Adams in the first half that forced us to kick instead of giving us a first down. Instead of them "taking their foot off the gas" the refs were probably chewed out at the half because they were making obvious calls on National TV which was affecting the game and they had to back off the second half. Bama no longer had their blatent help with the refs to extend their drives, which caused their drives to come to a screeching halt when Auburn stopped them on third downs. Of course, McElroy will never acknowledge that. I'm just sorry his bird shooting hand was not broken when he was taken down in the fourth quarter. It would have been well deserved!

  • I heard him on Cowherd and he seemed pretty good until....he acted as if the 2nd half of the IB never happened. He was pointing out all the AU defensive weaknesses by using examples only from the 1st half.

he would say "in our 2nd long TD their safety got out of position", etc. I sarted talking to the radio..."ad what about the 67 yards and 3 pts in the 2nd half genius?".

so typical od a Bammer....they have never been beaten, but have only occasionally happen to not win.
