Something else has come to mind, those coaches and any others that complain about the HUNH offense are only helping recruiting. Look at it this way: Why would somebody like Saban come out against Malzahn's offense just now like he is doing? Many people consider he and Kirby Smart the best defensive minds in the game. Yet, even he is coming out and in all honesty, he's showing he's scared of it. Recruits will see that: One of the best defensive minds in the game is flat out scared of Gus's offense. That offense must be pretty damn good to have him complaining about the rules. Wow, I'd like to play for that scary offense.

Thanks to everyone, as usual, for reading the column and your great responses. I think this is going to be an enjoyable season. I'd be shocked if it's not a very entertaining season. I predicted seven regular-season wins in a previous column. I'll stick to that. But I do believe that seven wins and a bowl bid would represent significant progress, considering the difficulty of the schedule. Seven wins and a bowl bid could also be a real indicator that Auburn has returned as a true force in the SEC. The barometer, in my opinion, will be how competitive Auburn is in its games against the top teams in the Western Division. But perhaps the biggest reason for optimism is that Auburn will have true and united direction on both sides of the football.
Yes, I believe in Auburn.
